Living is hard work which requires that we learn to understand who we really are and how to take care of ourselves in all ways. We have to learn to nurture this horse we call life, know what it needs, what spooks it, how to cross a river when we come to it; how not to get bucked off. That’s where therapy comes in. We need to be “horse whisperers” and keep our animal-self healthy and wise. Everyone has underdeveloped parts, blind spots what keep us from having a better love life and career path and that is the stuff of therapy.
We didn’t get born with an instruction manual, and therapy in my view is to feel into our emotional true self and experience the realizations we need to feel to come to. Who am I and how did I get to be this way?
Everyone wants to be happy and not be swept up in anxiety, or depression, or to live in isolation. Your work here is to understand what you need in terms of relationships, and how to refine your style of interacting with everyone in your life—at home and at work. We will figure out how to feed your psychological body, your mind, and nurture your heart.
In supporting who you are, we will figure out which therapeutic style you will benefit from, to attend to your unique personhood. We will figure out how to best embody your life spirit in the immediate here and now and how to recognize and attend to yourself , emotionally and intellectually. You will develop management skills for your feelings.
I’ve always felt that personal change comes through encountering our most difficult stuff while being supported and optimally challenged. Sometimes life opens up a unique chance for growth but often it takes a lot of energy to work thru stuff. . . We will come to understand you better in order to get the most meaning from your life experience.. , We can develop a mental and emotional map of your life’s origins, identify your authentic goals, how to understand who you are most deeply
